UIW News

Project Helios

May 11, 2023

Project Helios was inspired by issues that grew out of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the beginning of the Spring 2022 semester, Broadway Campus students were required to go online for two weeks of virtual instruction. Students were often forced to be close to charging outlets to power their laptops while in their dorm rooms or hallways, which did not always allow for social distancing.

With thousands of friends, family and supporters cheering on, UIW is proud to announce the conferral of 1,068 professional, doctoral, graduate and undergraduate degrees to students at the 2023 Spring Commencement Ceremony.

Earning the Hat

May 10, 2023

She always wanted “the hat,” – the tam doctoral candidates wear as they graduate and earn their degrees. On Saturday, May 6, Jessica Parra finally achieved her dream. The director of Student Services for UIW’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) crossed the stage and became Dr. Jessica Parra, finally earning her Doctor of Business Administration degree from UIW’s SPS program.
